Arts & Crafts Festival -
A COMMUNITY CELEBRATION
During the 1990s the YWCA became the sponsor of this long running festival.
This is the largest fund raiser undertaken by the YWCA. Booth fees from the show and funds raised at the YWCA tent help support the programs and services offered by the YWCA Westfield.
The focus of the show has always been high quality, hand crafted items. The organizers work each year to review the vendors, critique their products and maintain the highest level of talent and a unique mix of creations. Comments from patrons and vendors alike help with this process. Artists and Crafters interested in being a part of the show are invited to contact the YWCA to talk about their talents and creations.l
Each year favorite artists return but new ones also join the festival so there is always something new and different to enjoy.
The festival is held in Moore Park, at the intersection of Rts. 20 and 394, in the heart of the village of Westfield. The park is tree lined and provides shade for the vendors and visitors alike. It's a grassy area with some sidewalks - it's accessible and easy to get around in. No pets are allowed in the park; service animals must have proper certifications.
Admisssion is free and the show goes on rain or shine. Free parking and shuttle service is available, local not for profit agencies offer food and beverages for sale. Many area restaurants and taverns are within walking distance.Visitors are encouraged to add area attractions to their weekend plans; among a few of the favorites - the Lake Erie Wine Trail, CrossRoads, the Grape Discovery Center, professional grade golf courses and Chautauqua Institution.
The local Farmers Market sets up on Saturday morning and a wide selection of local fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers and Amish favorites are available.
Often there is musical entertainment during the festival afternoons.
Show dates for 2016 are July 29 and 30 and the artists are available at 9 AM each day. Closing is 6 PM on Friday and 5 PM on Saturday. The show is always set for the last full weekend in July.
